Application
For full cooling performance of up to 10 days, the QOOL Box is used in combination with the Temperature Elements.
- Pre-cool the Temperature Elements at at least –18 °C for at least 12 hours in a freezer or chest freezer.
- Position the Temperature Elements on the sides and top inside the QOOL Box.
For a cooling duration of up to 5 days, fewer Temperature Elements are needed. (QOOL Box M - 2 Elements / QOOL Box L - 4 Elements)
Done! The elements now keep the contents reliably and constantly within the selected temperature range – without any electricity at all.

Frequently Asked Questions about the QOOL Cooler
Does the QOOL cooler only maintain its temperature if you don't open it?
The QOOL Box achieves its impressive thermal insulation performance through the use of vacuum insulation panels, which are installed on all sides, in the lid, and in the base of the box. In combination with the QOOL Temperature Elements, the internal temperature can be kept constant for several days. The box can be opened multiple times without any problems, as long as the lid is closed in such a way that no air exchange occurs.
Does the QOOL cooler also work with standard ice packs or ice cubes?
Thanks to specially developed PCM formulations, QOOL Temperature Elements are suitable for various temperature ranges. All ingredients are non-hazardous and safe for use with food.
Standard Frozen (-20 °C to -10 °C) | For transporting all frozen foods and perfect for ice cream.
Standard Cool (-2 °C to +2 °C) | Especially suitable for sensitive refrigerated goods, such as fresh fish and meat.
Controlled Fresh (+2 °C to +8 °C) | Suitable for storing fruit, vegetables, dairy products, beverages, and temperature-sensitive medication.
How must the temperature elements be pre-cooled correctly?
Please freeze the Temperature Elements in a freezer/chest freezer at a temperature of at least -18 °C. Take the Temperature Elements out of the freezer/chest freezer. The inside of the elements should now be solid. The Temperature Elements are immediately ready for use and can be used with the QOOL Box.
The following pre-cooling time is required depending on the temperature range:
Frozen (-20 °C to -10 °C): at least 72 hours
Cool (-2 °C to +2 °C): at least 12 hours
Fresh (+2 °C to +8 °C): at least 8 hours
How do I optimally position the temperature elements in the QOOL Box?
For the QOOL Box M, which can keep items cool for up to 10 days without electricity, we recommend the maximum configuration with 4 temperature elements of the same size (1 liter). Place one element upright against the sides of the handles and place the other two elements on top of the food. The two top elements have the greatest effect, as cold air sinks and thus flows through the entire contents. If you are only away for 3-5 days, 2 of the 4 temperature elements are sufficient. These can be placed on the sides for convenience, but should be placed on top of the food for optimal cooling.
For the QOOL Box L, which can keep items cool for up to 10 days without electricity, a surround system (cooling cube) with 6 temperature elements is ideal. There are 2 different element types: 2 square elements (for the bottom and lid) and 4 side elements. Place one of the large elements on the bottom of the box. Then insert the 4 side elements with the flat side facing the respective wall. Finally, simply place the lid on top. Here too, not all elements are necessary for 3-5 days.
What box size is suitable for how many people?
QOOL Box M: This version is ideal for 2-3 people. It has a filling volume of 27 liters (22 liters with Temperature Elements). This volume allows for a food supply for about a week up to 10 days. Alternatively, the box offers enough space for up to 16 bottles with a capacity of 0.5 liters.
QOOL Box L: If you are a group of 4 people or more, we recommend the larger QOOL Box L version with a filling volume of 43 liters (33 liters with Temperature Elements). This generous size allows 24 bottles with a volume of 0.5 liters to be stowed away effortlessly and offers enough space for drinks and food for a weekend trip with the family.
If the larger Temperature Elements of the QOOL Box L do not fit in your freezer, we also offer an alternative set of 6 Temperature Elements in size M. You can find these under accessories.
It is recommended to pack the QOOL Box as completely as possible, as this optimizes the cooling performance and can keep it cool for up to 10 days. Choose the box size according to your requirements and the number of people to ensure the best user experience.
